Datawatch Monarch 12.4 - Unable to Launch

    Jose Murillo

      To anyone that can assist:

I recently obtained a license for Datawatch Monarch 12.4 and installed the application.

When I open the application, the loading screen appears for a few moments and then the below message flashes before closing everything down.

      Any suggestions?

          Hi Jose,

          This error may display if:

          - Monarch can’t create a UserInstances for SQL LocalDB, or

          - The Instance Folder is corrupted.

          I would suggest:

          1. Uninstalling Monarch

          2. Run the Registry Editor (Select Start and then type regedit)

          3. Delete the  following folders under Datawatch:

          o    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Datawatch\Monarch

          o    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Datawatch\Monarch

          Then:

          1. Completely uninstall the Microsft SQL Server 2012 Express LocalDB.

Note that sometimes there are SQL tools installed along with the Server and you have to uninstall these first.

          2. Run the Registry Editor (Select Start and then type regedit)

          3. Delete the UserInstance folders for SQL LocalDB that Modeler created:

          HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\UserInstances\

          4. Check for the folder with this DataDirectory:

          C:\Users\admin\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server Local DB\Instance\Datawatch.Engine

          5. Manually locate and check the DataDirectory path that was indicated on the registry. If the folder exist, and then delete it.

          This should resolve the issue.

          Hope this helps!

          Kind Regards,

          Armand
