    Summary sorting problem

I am preparing a summary with two keys (Categories and branch) and sort by percentage in descending order. But I encountered the result are not sorting by percentage which is as following:-

      1) Category - A , Branch - 001, Percentage - 100%

      2) Category - A , Branch - 002, Percentage - 90%

      3) Category - A , Branch - 003, Percentage - 80%

      4) Category - B, Branch - 001, Percentage - 100%

      5) Category - B, Branch - 002, Percentage - 70%

      Expected Result should be:-

      1) Category - A, Branch - 001, Percentage - 100%

      2) Category - B, Branch - 001, Percentage - 100%

      3) Category - A , Branch - 002, Percentage - 90%

      4) Category - A , Branch - 003, Percentage - 80%

      5) Category - B, Branch - 002, Percentage - 70%

      Please advice.

      Thanks.

          Hello Foong and welcome,

You can define a sorting by measure against multiple columns using this trick:

Define a calculated field in the table called "NewKey" as a Character field with formula Category " / " Branch.

Add this to the left of your summary keys.

Sort the summary on this key by measure in descending order.

Hide the key column from your summary.

          Hope this helps,

          Olly
