New to Monarch - need help!

    alewis _

Hi, I am fairly new to using Monarch and only done some fairly simple models.  I have a text file report that I am trying to turn into a table for Excel.  It has several rows that are levels of subtotals & totals that built into it, how can I either exclude those rows or include them, but be able to filter them out later.

The layout looks lke this & I need to have for each "SVC CD" line, the YTDREVI & YTDFRQI etc., I think it would be fine if only it didn't have the ****SUBTOTAL etc. lines.

      Can anyone help me?

          Hello alewis and welcome,

You can restrict the lines from the report by editing the trap characters in the detail template in the report window.

Asterisks denoting sub-totals are quite common in SAP reports - is that what you're working with?

Using a A wildcard trap, or a literal * trap with the NOT operator, should help you out.

          Best wishes,

          Olly

Thank you for replying!  I tried doing the literal * trap with the toggle NOT, and while I could get it to leave out the description lines for the subtotal/total lines, I am still getting the data for those lines.  I'm using Group Footers to append to the 'Svc Code" and I can't find anything unique about the ones under the total lines.

Also, I used a multiple line detail template to trap the Svc Code & the (NOT) total lines - am I doing this all wrong?

Thank you so much for the help!

              Allison
