    Occasional Datapump Logging Error

    thompssc _

We occasionally get the following error with random DataPump processes. Has anyone else seen something like this and if so is there a way to fix it, or is it just a bug in DataPump?

We use Monarch Data Pump v10.5.0.2 on a Windows Server 2003 R2 VM

Failed: DwchServer.CannotSaveJobLogException: Cannot save job log file 'C:\Program Files\Monarch Data Pump\Logs\60216.xml'. ---> System.IO.IOException: The requested operation cannot be performed on a file with a user-mapped section open. at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath) at System.IO.FileStream.Init(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, Int32 rights, Boolean useRights, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, FileOptions options, SECURITY_ATTRIBUTES secAttrs, String msgPath, Boolean bFromProxy) at System.IO.FileStream..ctor(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, FileShare share) at System.Xml.XmlTextWriter..ctor(String filename, Encoding encoding) at System.Xml.XmlDocument.Save(String filename) at DwchServer.JobLog.Save() --- End of inner exception stack trace --- at DwchServer.JobLog.Save() at DwchServer.JobLog.Update() at DwchServer.JobHandler.a()

          Hi Scott,

          Quite possibly an anti-virus issue:

If the AV is on the VM, try excluding the log folder.

Also consider there might be some interaction from the host level if it's scanning the virtual hard drives.

If not, there might be something else accessing the job log file at the same time.

FWIW, I've never seen this message when testing and using MDP.

          Gareth
