    No common footer record

    mindorff _

My records do not contain a consistent footer record.

Not all records have every field possible.

Therefore some of my appended records fall to the record below them. Is there any way to keep all append records attached to the proper detail record besides a valid footer record?

          Hello Mindorff

There are two key ways to handle this. With Monarch v10 and above, you can set one template to be "Cleared By" another. Setting an append template to be cleared by a footer should help you avoid it being repeated onto subsequent records.

Depending on how complex the trapping of the footers is, you might be able to use the Advanced Properties dialog for the fields and trap them using the "preceding string" options. This way you can pick up data that appears after some but not all detail records.

If you'd like more detailed help, please do post up a sample report.
