    Monarch question

    johnrichards _

      Hello to All,

I'm trying to create a calculated field (Lookup type) in Monarch Standard 10.5. I wanted to know if there is a limit of the number of items in the lookup table? 2,000, 3,000, 10,000 or is it unlimited??

Your best answer is appreciated. Thanks!

      Best Regards,

      John

          Hello John,

I've seen some enormous lookup fields, which are all stored in the xmod which can grow to 1MB+. So I don't think there's a practical limit, but once you start to find the interface unwieldy, it might be better to use Monarch Pro and have an external lookup instead.

          Best wishes,

          Olly

              +1 on that recommendation.

I looked for the specific limit in the documentation, but cannot locate that particular reference. I suspect that it's not documented.

But like Olly, I'd think that once you find yourself wasting precious time managing a large list and likely feeling somewhat frustrated with the process (it IS well suited to smaller lists though), you'll see that the investment in the Pro edition is well worthwhile.
