Footer repeated each detail line

    tharris _

Having issue with Footer. The report snippit below has a page template, detail template and footer template. The footer traps the "SUPERCEDING" lines. The superceeding line is preceeded by a detail line. My problem is that when there is more than one consecutive detail line(bold), the footer is repeated for the each detail line when it should be empty. Only the detail line preceeding the footer line should be included. Maybe there is a better way to do it? Any help or ideas appreciated.

This can be accomplished with the "Guru Trap"

Trap your detail line as normal

Then, as an append, trap the same line as your detail.

When you create the field, highlight the area where the "Superceding" info starts (but not the "superceding" text),

then in the advanced tab, select preceding string superceding /Uin current line.

Good stuff and I appreciate the help.  Followed your instructions but never got the append to capture the data.  After learning more about "Guru Traps" in posts, i figured out that I needed to use "after last defined field in template".  That got it.  Never would have gotten there without your help.  Thanks again.
