    Data Filters Question

    pwoods4143 _

I have filtering issue that I can't seem to get a handle on in Monarch. I a using V7. The sample data is below:

659132 SWP Abdulqadir, Nasr    1 Mon      9/15/2008 09/15/08 Mon  OFF       OFF                           (Null)

659132 SWP Abdulqadir, Nasr    1 Tue      9/16/2008 09/16/08 Tue  OFF       OFF                           (Null)

659132 SWP Abdulqadir, Nasr    1 Wed      9/17/2008 09/17/08 Wed  OFF       OFF                           (Null)

659132 SWP Abdulqadir, Nasr    1 Thu      9/18/2008 09/18/08 Thu  OFF       OFF                           (Null)

659132 SWP Abdulqadir, Nasr    1 Fri      9/19/2008 09/19/08 Fri  OFF       OFF                           (Null)

         659132 SWP Abdulqadir, Nasr    1 Sat      9/20/2008 09/20/08 Sat 12:00     20:30    Break                 0.3542

         659132 SWP Abdulqadir, Nasr    1 Sat      9/20/2008                        20:30    Lunch                 0.3333

         659132 SWP Abdulqadir, Nasr    1 Sat      9/20/2008                        20:30    Break                 0.3542[/B]

         659132 SWP Abdulqadir, Nasr    1 Sun      9/21/2008 09/21/08 Sun 12:45     18:00    Break                 0.2188

      /CODE

This is an example  of an associates schedule for the week. What I need in the end is how long the associate worked that day minus in any unpaid hours (i.e. Lunch). I have the report completed up to that point. The problem I am having is with days that have mutiple occurances of "off the phone activites", such as Saturdays. The only rows I need on days of multiple occurrences are the "Lunch" rows. And I can not seem to come up with a way to filter for them inside of Monarch. I could do this outside of Monarch in a spreadsheet but that would add one more step to an already lenthy process. Does anyone have any ideas on how to filter just the days with multiple occurences in the same day for just the "Lunch" occurence (if there was one) on that paticular day? Trust me any assistance will be great appreciated.

          Hi pwoods,

I don't think this is going to be easy in one Monarch model, but if you exported a summary counting the number of Breaks by Day by User, and sent that out as an Access file, then created an external lookup to this file and brought in the value for Number of Breaks, you could filter on that. You could do it in one model if you weren't trying to automate the process and were happy to run two project exports manually in the right order.

          HTH,
