# Summary of percentages

I am a novice using Monarch V8 however i have for days now struggled to achieve something that i am sure is very simple.

Need to summarise table data so that i get performance of flight inventory sold for the whole period and not by specific date.

The following shows original data in my table and how i want Monarch to calculate % of sold per flight number over whole period.

Appreciate any help you can give on this as i am becoming frustrated on how to set up the Key/Item/Measure fields when setting up the summary.

Fields are

D          Date

F          Flight Number

C          Capacity

S          Sold

A          Available

%         Percentage Sold

Thanks

• ###### Summary of percentages

Hi Gico,

If you define a summary with Flight as the key field, then select as measures:

Sum(Capacity)

Sum(Sold)

Sum(Available)

count()

Double click on the count() measure and edit the calculation tab to:

Type: Other

Then SUM(Sold)/SUM(Capacity) in the formula should give you meaningful results.

There's a Monarch training course in London in June - further information on www.datawatch-europe.com[/url], or from the team on 01752 893 100, or by dropping me a mail.

Best wishes,

Olly

For some strange reason when i try this again it automatically changes to RATIO?

This is what the OTHER Field looks like

Sum()/Sum()

Any ideas?

Any time that you create division expressions in a measure field, the title defaults to RATIO.

To change it to something more meaningful, double click the measure, go to the General tab, uncheck the "Use default title" box, and supply your preferred field name.

Oddly enough still no luck with this. I had this working previously but lost the model file which was stored on a previous machine.

Never recall having this Ratio issue before and on following the instruction given by Olly it worked perfectly. No such luck now even by changing default name.

Any help on this would be most welcome.

Thanks
