    key field after multi-line detail

    Norm Lilleberg

I have multi-line detail information to be related to department code that follows the detail on the next line.  I am getting the detail into the table properly but each line associates with the subsequent department rather than the correct one.

Each of the following lines should be on one line and the dept 219415 in the first column should relate to previous detail (not shown), the 219416 dept should relate to detail shown for 219415, and the detail showing for 219416 relates to the next deptartment.  I really have looked all over Monarch for the solution and I am sure there is one which I have not been able to find.  TIA for your help.

      Sample:

Which I kind of important I guess!

Sorry, the data should look like this:  (a piece of the original report follows:

            219416 20000 PAYABLE TO MEMBER WESTRUM >SUNARJO0501 RJ00W 25

            219416 20000 PAYABLE TO MEMBER WESTRUM >TRAVIS 0502 RJ00W 25

            219421 20000 PAYABLE TO MEMBER MBR GFT 110. 00- @ 1.30040000 AUD IENAU -84.59

            219421 20000 PAYABLE TO MEMBER MISC 1462. 98 @ 1.30040000 AUD IENAU 1125.02

Origianal report data: (Note the center numbers follow the detail.)  In my table the the 219415 Center gets the 219416's detail  and the 219416 center gets the 219421's detail.

              AH!

              That explains it!

If you make your **CENTER NO. line a FOOTER type append you should get the results you are looking for , I think.

Er, if not I'll have another go at the interpretation ...

              Have fun.

                I just couldn't see it.
