    MS Word

I was wondering if there is any way one could open an MS Word document in Monarch and extract data from it without converting the document to a text file first?

I think you'll need to save the document as a notepad ".txt" file. Word files have an inordinate amount of behind-the-scenes "baggage". Surprisingly enough, you can make the most simple table in Word, then save it and try to open it in Excel, and you get a "file format not valid" error. So if you can't open a Word doc in Excel, you won't be able to open it in Monarch either.

That's what I figured.  That is what I am doing but was wondering if there was a way to use the word document itself and save a couple of steps.

But I thought I'd throw this idea out anyway.  You never know what someone out here has come up with for a solution.  There are a lot of clever people out here using Monarch.
