    Trapping "Not"

    spreston _

I am trying to setup a template that will trap lines that contain 2 of 3 characters.  The possibilities for the field are either 'C', 'D', or 'N'.

I want to trap anything that is Not 'D'.

Is there a way to do this?

There are a couple of ways of doing this using filters.  One way is to set a filter to filter if field1 (or whatever your field name is) .in.("C","N") which will select anything in field1 with a value of 'C' or 'N'. Or you can have your filter read field1<>"D" or field1.not."D".  Either one will select everything in field1 with a value not equal to 'D".

          Hope this helps.

Trap the field as you normally would, then in the Table View, just create filter that show records that do not have D in that field.
