    template trapping help

    DZizzo _

I'm using Monarch Pro v8 and just cannot figure out how to trap this report to get the numbers, including the 'Direct...' line but with no 'Total' lines.  And also, can the 'New Transfer' and other header lines be used as appends without including the 'Direct' line again?  This is the basic layout of the report and I can't tell you how much I would appreciate any hints!!!

Could you re-submit your sample data?  If you use the [/code] tags around your data and it should display in the correct format layout.

          Thanks!

              Hi DZ,

It looks to me like the simplest way to get what you want is probably going to be to trap populated lines and then filter out the ones you don't need - any with the word 'total' in the first field for example.

Lines starting with "-" would be append templates.

Does this help or is there some other aspect of the report that may not be obvious to us yet that frustrates this suggestion?

              Grant

Thank you Grant.  It works great.  Why didn't I even notice the '-'s right there?  You are indeed THE Guru among Gurus.

Most kind DZ and I thank you but sometimes, as here I suspect, there is some benefit to be gained simply by being detached from the data and seeing it with different eyes.

Of course the forum can be a very useful eye refresher!

                  Glad you got a result.
