Detail trap lines before multiple append lines

    Lanette _

Is there a way to get the append templates you setup on a report to apply to the detail lines that come before it rather than after it?

I have a report with multiple detailed item records that are displayed in stacked columns, followed by 1 or more subtotal lines based on some grouping values.  I need to capture data in the subtotal lines and apply them to the detail records.  I setup my traps and am getting the data, but the data from the subtotal lines is being applied in the table to the wrong detailed records.  Here is in example:

      __________________________________________________

      12345   12/31/2004    Test Item

      100.15        |45.67         |345.21      |67.54

      33.25-       |876.33        |22.88       |44.33-

      12388   02/15/2001    Test Item 2

      200.17        |145.77        |345.21      |67.54

      33.25-       |37.51         |82.81       |44.33-

      ItemClass     32111154

      Location#     54376038143

      12448   08/15/2001    Test Item 3

      345.21        |145.77       |25.81        |97.54

      325.25        |37.51-       |67.54        |44.33-

      _________________________________________________

In the above example, instead of the Item Class # and Location#'s being applied to the detail lines for 12345 and 12388, they are applied to the detail lines that come after it.

      Any suggestions?

            Hi Lanette,

You need to edit the template and change they type from an append to a footer.  That should do the trick.

            Regards

            Steve

                Steve,

Thanks for your reply.  I made that change on one of my append templates, and it seems to do the trick.  However, I have three different subtotal lines that need to be appended, and it appears I can only have one footer.  Any suggestions?  Am I going to have to create 2 more models to get the other data, then try to link all three together into one master report?

                Thanks,
