Quick Start Guide 

Welcome to the Knowledge Works Customer Community. We hope that you find our new platform user friendly, and wanted to give you a few quick tips on how to get started.

1. Sign-In: Select the "Login-Register" button on the right side.
If it's your first time logging in to the new Knowledge Works Online Community. Please select "Can't access your account or Forgot your password?"

If you are new to the Knowledge Works community, or a new customer please select "New User/Register Now"
Reset Password: Enter the email address associated with your Knowledge Works customer account. *If you do not receive an email with a reset password link within 1 hour, please contact Rebecca Cronin at rcronin@altair.com
New User: Complete the registration form. Please allow for 72 hours for a response.
*Please use your company/organization email address to register. Personal email addresses (Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc.) will not be accepted. If you are a private organization/self-employed and only have personal email please contact Rebecca_Cronin@datawatch.com for  assistance.
2. Tell us about yourself: Help us and other Knowledge Works users get to know you better. The more content you share about yourself, the easier it will be for like-minded users to connect with you.
3. Profile Settings: While on your profile page, click on the tab for My Account. Here you can set up how you would like to receive emails from the community, how much of your profile you want visible to other members, customize your signature that will appear under discussion posts, and more. 

Privacy Settings: Control who can see your personal information by selecting Privacy Settings under your My Account tab.

Email Preferences: Manage where your emails go, what types of email you will receive, and the frequency.
4. Community Notifications: You have lots of options for how you stay connected and up to date on what's happening in your communities. To see what you are subscribed to or to change your notifications settings, select Community Notifications under the My Account tab.

  • Consolidated Daily Digest: *Recommended Choice  You will receive one email per day that combines all the activity for each community to which you belong. For many users, this is a very popular choice as you get one email per day regardless of the number of groups to which you belong.
  • Consolidated Weekly Digest: You will receive one email per week that combines all the activity for each community to which you belong. Keep in mind that with this option you may miss out on posts and shared items that have a timely component.
  • Real time: sends an email every time a new message is posted. This choice gives you the greatest number of emails.
  • Daily digest: sends one email to you each day for each communityto which you belong, consolidating all of the posts from the previous day.
  • No Email: allows you to be part of the community without having emails sent to you. You can still post and read others’ messages by logging into the community site. This is our least recommended choice.

5. Build your contact list:
Select Directory from the top navigation bar and click Member Directory to find other product users and experts. Creating a contact list helps build connections and searchable networks. Our Advanced Search option offers further parameters for making connections.

6. What now? Join the conversation!

Ask Questions: What do you want to know more about? Have a product specific question? Looking for examples or use cases? There's someone out there with the answer.
Share ideas and Resources: How are you using Knowledge Works products? Start a discussion thread to give others a peek inside your world or to demonstrate your expertise. You can also add attachments to your discussion posts, which will be archived in the community resource library. You can also upload your own documents and browse other users documents in this community library.Give Feedback: Use your knowledge and experience to answer other user's questions. Just click Reply inline to access the simple text editor and to reply directly under the user's discussion post. You can also reply to the entire discussion (select Reply to Discussion) or send a private message (Reply to sender). You have the ability to edit your own discussion posts at any time, just select the drop-down menu next to "REPLY INLINE" and select "Edit."
Gain Knowledge and Resources: Check out the Knowledge Works Product Resources. These stand-alone libraries give you access to product specific resources provided by Knowledge Works. Here you will be able to access both video and written resources, such as, how to videos, webinars, data sheets, use cases, and more.
